SA indigenous trainee of the yearYasmina TadicYasmina Tadic has shone the spotlight on Mount Gambier after being named the state's indigenous trainee of the year within the Group Training Australia network.The awards were held at Government House in February and were presented by Governor Kevin Scarce. Yasmina began her traineeship in certificate II in business in late 2008 as GTE's receptionist. Yasmina is a role model to the indigenous community and a fine example of what could be achieved with hard work, mentoring and support. Congratulations Yasmina

Adam McDonough
As an Apprentice Mechanic, Adam is a real asset to his Host Employer Barry Maney Ford. He is a quiet achiever with a pleasant helpful nature, conscientious and respectful and gets on well with his work mates. He has achieved excellent results at TAFE and shows a real interest to learn all he can about his chosen trade.

James Axton
James is an Apprentice Motor Mechanic specializing in Outdoor Power Equipment with Host Employer, The Stihl Shop. He has progressed to become a very mature and confident young man and deals with customers in a most professional manner. His TAFE result are of a high standard which reflects in the high level of his workmanship and has made James a valued member of the business.

John Stemberger
Host Employer Danny Stephenson regards John as a very capable Tiling Apprentice who maintains the high standards of his business. He has demonstrated the ability to take on entire jobs on his own and his work is always completed to a high quality finish and in a speedy time frame. He has already invested in his own ute, tradesman trailer and tiling tools and is always up to the challenge of a new job.

Bill has been a model Apprentice Diesel Mechanic with his Host Employer, Cummins South Pacific. He has a great personality, good attitude and work ethic, willing to learn and go that extra mile to help himself and others as well as the company. Kate Stockdale
Kate has performed her duties as a Hospitality Trainee with Host Employer Heywards Royal Oak Hotel in Penola in a very professional and positive manner. She completed all her Hospitality course units, with her training organisation commenting that "Kate was a perfectionist doing all skills to the highest level possible. As a trainer it is just wonderful to work with someone who puts back in as much as you give." Kate made an outstanding contribution to the Hotel by taking on Event Management and doing her tasks to a high standard.

Chris Martyn
Chris is an Apprentice Carpenter with Stevens & Shepherd. He has always been keen and enthusiastic about his job and ensures everything is done to a high standard. Chris has also taken on other training in small business, legal requirements, Forklift and Bobcat Operation which gives him other skills to help him do his job. Chris excelled at TAFE and won Silver at the Worldskills Australia 2008 competition in Sydney.
